HaynesPro is the proud sponsor of team HPSAS, a team of high school students who have entered the FIRST Tech Challenge. This is an international competition to plan, design, build and program a fully functional Mars rover.

The project is part of the students’ research and science course and consists of a national and international competition between various teams. The goal of the rover is to identify, grab and store a collection of ‘minerals’ on a rugged surface as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The team had to go through four preliminary rounds, after which they qualified for the Dutch national championships. There they qualified as one of the participating teams in the European championships in Barcelona, where they finished in the top 10.

The team also qualified for the US championship; however, they had forego this opportunity in order to focus on their exams.

The technical, innovative, and educational character of this project symbolizes the core values of HaynesPro. We are proud to have sponsored such a great group of young and ambitious students who might one day have an impact on our daily lives.
